I bought this new ram, 3000mhz https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B077ZFCWJW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

and I have this motherboard that supports up to 3200mhz https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B012NH05UW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

but, with xmp enabled, hwinfo says its only running at  2133

Did you "save and exit" in the bios?

yes, multiple times, that the setting it has been at, I haven't had to change it (my old ram was 2133mhz)

What happens when you scroll down in the BIOS and manually select 3000MHz?

Maybe try less aggressive overclock like 2400mhz and 2666 and 2933

Are you using an AMD CPU? I've seen people have issues with LPX going past JDEC 2666 with AMD.

 

Should have looked at your motherboard.

 

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

Thanks, that worked! after setting the speed and timings to what the ram is rated for, it worked
