Fake graphics card

Wow, those two cards are basically identical, you'd have to look carefully at the model number sticker on the PCB...

Nah. 2060 Super uses 1x8-pin and 1x6-pin for supplementary power, 2080 Super (and 2070 Super) use 2x8-pin. So a closer visual inspection would have made it pretty clear this was not what it was being sold as. This is setting aside the fact the 2060 Super is slightly thinner than its bigger Strix brethren and the 2080 Super has additional structural bracing in the fan shroud IIRC, since that's not as immediately obvious unless you can compare them side by side.

Still unfortunate this happened to the OP, but I frankly think the time and investment of using a lawyer to actually pursue this will end up being impractical.

If the 2060 Super is fully functional it looks like it could be sold for more on eBay than the 500 OP paid, so all is not lost.

I bought a RTX advertised as a 2080 SUPER on Facebook Marketplace. I did my research, everything was looking good. I went to get it and did a visual inspection. Everything was still looking good. I paid the guy and left. At home put it into my test bench and look at the pictures... 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 So I went to see a lawyer and send a formal notice.

Post a picture of the PCB? What model was it apparently supposed to be?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

Youre going for a nuclear solution on what can possibly be just a miscommunication.

Contact the seller about it and work something out, i know that lawyer cost pennies in america but this form of attitude just waste time and creates a toxic environment on the used market. But hey, its your decision, and considering that the GPU id on GPU-Z does return T106 which is a 2060 Die, you are having strong suits that youre swindled.

I already contacted the seller without any answer from him. So this is why I'm going nuclear. Graphics card is like gold those days... I paid 1400$ !! 🤦🤷 And it only cost me 90$ here in Quebec, Canada for a formal notice.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

didn't think about this at that time, at home yes. I was setup for 2x8 pins already and I remember saying "Humm that's weird" 🤷🤦 yeah it's still worth something. Tomorrow morning I'll do a stress test. The performance seems to be poor. I suspect mining.
