Mining noob question

Hi guys, i just started mining some BTT bittorrent coins on unmineable just to get into the mining world, i got my gaming pc with an rx 5700 xt and wanted to mine some cheap coins to have them for the future just in case, i wanted to know what alghorithmn to use to mine those cheap coins right now im on ETHASH the gpu is at 50% power max frequency is -20%, power limit -20% aswell (just doing light mining dont wanna kill my only GPU xD)  and im producing 15 mega hashrate and wanted to ask if its good or is there any other alghoritmn to use or better coins to mine thanks

Are you trying to maximize profits or maximize the diversify of altcoins and HODL? 15Mh is terrible for the 5700XT. You should be in the range of 54Mh/s+. IMO if you just want to maximize profits and have little understanding go with NiceHash. It's really just set and forget and has nice features like remote rig management. As for the speeds you could flash your BIOS or more easily just use a program like MSI Afterburner and use guides online for the speeds. Nicehash has a nice guide on what the settings you should use to maximize hashrate will minimizing power used

Just keeping this here as a I don't think that's right....

For example on ethash, a 480 8gb is about 20MH 

Have you oced the memory at all?

You want the highest possible stable memory freq.

You don't need to mine at half power, and kill the power limit and core freq.

Are you using the system when mining? Then fine at full power, 20% power, leave core freq stock, it should just not boost as high.

 

 

Edit:Also turn on compute mode in the drivers, It might take a hit to gaming perf by about 10% (max) but it will have a huge bump to Hashrate. My card had a +45% (ish) bump in hash with it

oh no im not trying to maximize anything, i already tried and at max speeds my gpu gets 55 mega hashrate i downgraded it on purpose i just wanna light mine nothing heavy since im using the pc meanwhile im mining and dont wanna kill the GPU fast xD, just wanted to know if there is any other alghorithm that works better on mining BTT bittorrent or dogecoin since i dont understand this type of things or ETHASH is the best

i am using the pc and i wanted to mine really light nothing heaving at all, what settings should i use on the AMD overlay? right now im at -20% max frequency and -20% power limit

Mining doesn't kill your GPU any faster than gaming would assuming it's properly cooled. If you are going to do that why not just buy some and treat it like stock?

You aren't going to get really anything at those hashrates. Why not just mine while your PC is idle? So like when you are asleep or busy throughout the day?

Ok. You should increase the memory clock in the tuning section, as high as it goes and is still stable, and you can leave the core clock at stock as the lower power limit stops it from boosting anyways. 
the go into settings-> graphics then scroll down to advanced, then change from graphics to compute. Reboot.

then go to task manager, details, and right click on all of the things related to the mining program. Right click, select priority, and select below normal.

Now, you can line at full power, but can do anything you want when doing it, since any user task will be of higher priority than it. I was able to mine when gaming after I changed the priority. (Keep in mind you will need to do this every time you restart mining)

You should see a huge jump in mining perf, and the system should be 100% usuable now.

well in 1 day at those hash rate i got 150 BTT bittorrent coins, so i could mine like this for 10 days at low settings i would still get around 1k BTT

1 problem i dont have the setting for the compute mode on the amd overlay and i have installed the latest driver 21.5.2

yes i am banking on the BTT to go up in the future not today or tommorrow just wanna stack some altcoins for the future like BTT, doge, shiba inu token just have some of them for the future you never know xD

That's roughly $3.95 in 10 days and assuming your card is at half power usage relative to optimized mining power usage of 91W that's 10.8Kw used in 10 days. You haven't BIOS modded the card so it's likely much higher than the 45W I used to calculate the number. But anyways if you mined at full power around 91W for only 1 day you would make $4.05 and use 2.184Kw. So you're actually loosing money with your current plan
