No feedback when posting on a multi-page topic without being on the last page

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

Post on a multi-page topic, but without being on the last page

 

What happened?

Hitting the Submit Reply button gives no feedback and doesn't reload the page, making it seem the action hasn't been taken into account - but it has, so if you click again thinking you misclicked you get duplicates.

 

What did you expect to happen?

Some form of feedback, maybe reloading the last page to show the post

Any other relevant details:

Already had it happen in the past, but not sure it happens all the time. Can spam a topic in test posts to try if needed.

 

If it's a cloudflare error, what was the ray ID from the bottom of the error page?

When you reply to topics normally, does the submit reply button get disabled (gets lighter and changes to "Saving...")?

OK, can't reproduce on MotF, it works as expected there, submits then loads the last page and shows the post.

 

Maybe a timing issue if someone else posted at the same time, or could there be something specific to some forum sections?

Definitely wouldn't be specific to certain subforums, and shouldn't be related to other replies or anything like that. It may have just been some random transient issue though.

Yup, but it's not the first time it happened to me either... Will try to keep on the lookout when posting on multipage threads next times.

If it does happen again, open the dev tools (F12) and switch to the console tab, and see if there's anything there.
