Is it worth upgrading from AMD Ryzen 5 to 7?

1)HP Omen 15z ...should upgrade from AMD Ryzen 5 5600H to AMD Ryzen 7 5800H for 140$?????

2)Also in US what is the cheapest way of acquiring a laptop?(online or offline[if offline then where])?

And I am a university student so basically going to use it for programming, gaming ,mining and normal stuff like browsing and watching shows and movies.

3)And is there any other laptop(or particular specifications) you would recommend?

4)And if I wait up to black Friday how much discount can i expect?

Does it come with better GPU to back the price bump? If not, dont unless the Ryzen 7 one is in a rebate.

Offer sites like slickdeals and Honey. Keep an eye on those sort of sites for a price drop online (iirc there's one that also snipe offline prices, but i forgot the site name)

1. If you can use the extra power, yes. If not, no.

2. Depends where you live and what you're close to, or how much it costs for express shipping.

3. Not really.

4. No idea, usually decent, but it depends on what the chip situation is like. If it's still bad, we might not see discounts at all. No one here has a crystal ball.

Professional opinion: I wouldn't buy an HP product (and this goes doubly so for their laptops) if you gave me the money to buy it with.

QA is non-existent, they use bottom-of-the-barrel parts that barely hold together under warranty (and heaven help you when the warranty runs out) and have a proven track record of making laptops that overheat and fry their boards (the DV line was a notorious example)

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

And theres a problem... Not everyone is, like me... I have an Asus laptop which was completely unusable with the Windows installation it came with... Had to reinstall it and make sure Windows update wouldnt install any Asus software or else it would bluescreen...

But that's not a hardware issue, that's a software one.

Defective software can be fixed, defective hardware (in a laptop anyway) is much harder to solve.

But yes, you will not find 10 geeks who will agree on any laptop manufacturer's gaming laptop as being "good"
