Windows 10 is pure crap,I hate it so much.

Linux is better, but Windows 7 is even better 😄

I vote Win 10 because so many of the programs I use are designed to run on it. That has to be the main choice for an OS, what you intends to use on the PC runs on it. If you need more OS then duel boot the computer with two drives. One for each OS

It depends on what you are trying to do. Linux is a good idea for software development because it is open source, secure, lightweight, and disposable. Windows is better for gaming and people who do not have a lot of computer smarts because it is easy to use and has the most supported software, it is heavy on resources but that can be fixed.

Windows 10 with "OOSU10.exe"  applied should provide all the "benefits" of Windows while eliminating Windows 10 bloat, spying and inconvenient updating. It's free.

I prefer to let the computer use the OS and then I use the applications I need. I like an OS that gets out of the way. Windows 10 will only get out of the way when scripts like OOSU10.exe or similar third party scripts are applied.

If I were starting out in computers for home,  work, creativity, and workstation productivity and I didn't have to concern myself with a library of windows software I would chose a Linux distro.

Use Linux only if you have a very specific reason to do so (eg., you need a lightweight OS for a weak computer, or you want to learn Linux).

Win10 takes about 15-20 minutes to uninstall all the bloatware and turn off most of the telemetrics, and after that it's a great plug-n-play OS that just works.

Ryzen 1600x @4GHz

Asus GTX 1070 8GB @1900MHz

16 GB HyperX DDR4 @3000MHz

Asus Prime X370 Pro

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

Noctua NH-U14S

Seasonic M12II 620W

+ four different mechanical drives.

Do not ask me. Every time someone asks what operating system I should use the answer is always SuSe (in 1995 the answer would have been Red Hat)

I wonder how and if it will work on my IBM PowerPC system with XDR memory and a 15 years SLC SSD 😄

It has a 7800 GTX as well.
