10400f vs 11700k?

How big of an upgrade am I looking at between these two cpus when I upgrade

Cyberpowerpc mid tower with two 120mm case fans

Masterliquid 120mm aio

 i5 10400f

MSI Z590 pro atx

crucial ballistix 2 x 8gb ddr4-3000

evga rtx 3060 xc 

evga 600 80+ gold 

1tb western digital sn550 m.2

I got this pc for gaming and streaming

Instead of 11700k i'd get a 10850k/10900kf or a 5800x

11700K  8c16t  = $400

 

Are the 2c4t worth $220 to you?

Not a big difference in gaming.  Now if you're encoding and streaming... is it worth $220 more.

You also have to buy a cooler for the 11700K.

True if he didn't already have a system, but based on his post he does, so no, he doesn't need to buy a new cooler.
