Does it matter what Ethernet cable you buy for your internet I get 540 megabit download speed so I could just get a cat 5e I believe but it seems that cat 6 is cheaper and better I’m not sure how that makes sense so I just want to make sure I buy the right thing I was thinking of getting gigabit download speed eventually so. Should I get these or should I get something completely different I have no clue.

if you want gigabit go with cat 6 , cat 6 can go up to 10 gigabit max ( i think , all of this is from google or my past experiences )

It all depends on distance. Is it only 1-2 meters. Then it really doesnt matter. They will all be able to do at least gigabit.
Go for the cheaper one if distances are under 5 meters. Above that you need to take care for the cable type, as it can cost you speed.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

The distance would probably be like 50 ft at least

Ethernet, regardless of rating (cat5e, cat6, etc) is limited to 100m. Any distance less than or equal to 100m will negotiate without issue at the rated speed. The ONLY time distances shorter than that come into play is with 10Gb and Cat6 cabling which is limited to 55m.

Anything called Cat7 is has the potential to be low quality because it's not an official standard and a lot of people selling Cat8 cables are selling dubious stuff as well because even though it IS an official standard, it's not something you'll see in home use and has no real validation being done but they're marking it up in a lot of cases to try and sell lower quality cable at a higher profit and claiming it's Cat8.

Cat 5e is rated for 2.5 Gbps at 100 meters

Cat 6 is rated for 5 Gbps at 100 meters and 10 Gbps at shorter distances depending on quality of cable.

Cat 6a is rated for 10 Gbps at 100 meters.

In freedom units it about 328 feet. If it were me, and cat 6 is cheaper, then just go with cat 6.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
