Do PSUs keep their resale value well?

l0nglive

I was shopping for a PSU for 5950 and potentially 3080ti / 3090 when I saw that the used high-wattage-PSUs are selling for a very high amount. For example, EVGA and Seasonic 1000W are being advertised for ~200-220 AUD while new are like $270. A similar pattern is seen for Corsair RM 850. IS it due to the perceived value and long expectant life? Any magic that makes a 1000w PSU so valuable?

In the end, I have bought an Aorus 850W for just AUD $119 because it's on sales. But I'm curious to see why a 1000w has double the price of a 850w
