Can you use Spotify

I'm a new audiophile and was looking at getting Hifiman Sundara. I hear people say streaming services like Spotify distort the music. So I was just wondering if there's any point to buy a high-end headphone if I'm going to listen to it through Spotify. I know Title has better quality but I'm not going to use that. I recently bought Sony xm4 and was kind of disappointed with the sound and I don't think I'm going to use the nose cancellation that much. So I was thinking of returning them and buying these. Thanks.

Absolutely, good headphones vs bad headphones (or speakers) will make a significantly larger difference than a flac vs the already pretty decent streaming quality of Spotify.

 

 

No comment on those headphones in particular.

To add to where @kelvinhall05left off:

 

XM4's only great quality is the noise cancelling. They're not known for their sound quality. 

 

Sundaras are on a completely different plane. You will most likely need to Consider getting an amp for them.
