Ebay GPU Shopping

YashhSahni

Hi everyone,

So I am planning a PC build and had a doubt that buying a GPU from Ebay is good? and also is it legit- I am looking at a GTX 1080ti (Gigabyte Aorus) one for $65. Is this deal a scam?

Do you mean $650?

Any 1080ti listed for $65 is most likely a scam. If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

$65 for a 1080ti? 99.9999998% chance it's a scam. Always read the description carefully on ebay items, lots of times they like to say "picture only" which means you pay for them to send you a picture of the graphics card, not the graphics card itself. Also check their feedback rating.

Your best bet is a local market like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. Just remember to always meet up in a neutral public place.

I searched eBay for 1080ti Gigabyte and there's 3 results on the top page for cards for $58, $61, and $65 from different seller accounts that are all using the same pictures of cards. Each seller has "More than 10 available".

It's a SCAM.

What's funny is as I'm going through the search results clicking on some of other obvious scam listings (Asus Strix 1080ti for <$100) they're getting deleted and I'm getting the error page when a listing has been pulled down. xD
