In total, these parts are about $242 US, which is all i can afford and i can't save anything...
I like to play games like BF4, Far Cry 3, and CS:GO. I currently have a 1280 x 1024 monitor, but am getting a 1366x768 display later on.
I've got a hard drive and windows all set up in my current rig, so that's not needed.

I want to know how (hypothetically) these parts would work before i spend my money. I know the 460 WAS a good card, but how does it hold up, and how badly bottlenecked would it be with the Celeron chip.

Thanks for the help :)
*EDIT*
PLEASE ONLY recommend OTHER PARTS, not saving money. I know i'd be better off, but i'm in a tough situation as far as finances are concerned. I'd like to get the most out of my $250, even though another $150 would get me an exponentially better PC

Why not?

Just sell your old PC and stuff too.

I'm already selling my xbox and games(granted, i don't play it anyway)

my current computer isn't worth selling...i wouldn't wish using this thing on my worst enemies...

lol

It would work I guess, but I still say that you should find a way to get more money.

At this price a prebuilt might be better, I don't like them, but you could get more for your money.

Even if you have really low allowance just keep saving. No point in getting a low-end computer that you will feel the need to upgrade every couple months.

considering i'm getting it for free and it has better viewing angles than my current monitor...i'll just take the upgrade :)

if it outperforms my brothers A6 APU, then i won't feel like upgrading for a while...

PCs have free(mostly) multiplayer

i can't afford gold, so the xbox is useless to me

you also can't play DayZ on xbox(although it's not recommended i do so on this rig either with that celeron)

Why aren't you allowed to have a job? Do you mean you don't have the time for it? Or is someone stopping you?

I'd save the money, wait for your birthday or something to get some more cash. No point in buying cheap things. If you can't afford to do it right, don't do it

Save your money, going from 1280x1024 to 1366x768 is stupid. 1366x768 is a gross halfway resolution that was born from laptops and cheap monitors. When you buy a new monitor get a minimum of 1080p, you can run the lower resolutions on it if your system can't handle 1080p but when you upgrade later you can run at a proper resolution. As far as running the games you mentioned CSGO won't be an issue as the sytem requirements aren't that crazy, FC3 will most likely run graphically because I've gotten a solid 30FPS at 1080p on medium with a GTS 250 1GB but I'm sure the CPU will be an issue. I also think that BF4 won't run well at all due to the CPU unless you keep the resolution and settings low.

If all you care about is online multiplayer then fair enough, but local multiplayer is basically non-existant on PC.

DayZ will suck on that PC, and BF4 and FC3 probably won't even open. lol.

Viewing angles are semi overrated for use as a PC monitor. You sit in a chair in the right spot for the screen, so you don't need crazy viewing angles.

I'd choose whatever has nicer colour, or use both. 1280x1024>1366x768 IMO

TO BOTH OF YOU, i've seen 1366x768 displays that are 23" LARGER than the one i'll be getting and it's not bad at all. I couldn't tell the difference between a 30" 1366x768 display and a 27" 1080P one from about a foot away.

Just stay with your 1024p monitor, you'll get better fps that way.

Strange. They should encourage it and leave it up to you to decide if you want one or not, you know, being able to make your own choices and all...

I've seen videos of worse CPUs and the GTX 460 running FC3 at ultra on 1080P...

but you're right, DayZ will suck...

and viewing angles are not as overrated as you'd think. My current monitor shifts colour if i'm even leaning back in my chair, making watching netflix an uncomfortable annoyance.

You might need to spend the money on a pair of glasses ;)

The differenence between a 1920x1200 24" and a 1280x1024 19" is easily visible to me, and I don't have perfect eyesight.

BF4 won't run though :/

Use both screens then, or sell both and try find something better for cheap at a yard sale or pawn shop.

netflix won't be great on the 768 either, there won't be a sharp resolution for it, as 720p will be upscaled. 720p fits perfectly on a 1024 though
