1440p 144hz ips monitor suggestions

Budget (including currency): £400ish

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

So I've got everything else, and I'm selling my Samsung odyssey G7, as I have decided I don't like the steepness of the curve on it, and I'm not a fan of the VA panel.

I'm looking for suggestions on a good IPS 1440p 144hz monitor, preferably with HDR 600 if possible.

I've really been liking my Gigabyte M27Q. The colors are good, it offers up to a 170Hz refresh rate with adaptive sync, the stand is height-adjustable, and it has a novel built-in KVM that lets you switch between two different computers while still using the same keyboard and mouse.

However, it's only HDR 400, and not a very good HDR 400 at that, so if you really want HDR, you'll have to look elsewhere.

I ordered Asus VG27AQ1A instead of Gigabyte M27Q. Should see soon if it's any good. Native 10bit panel instead of 8-bit, my reasoning.

I edit my posts more often than not

100% same opinion - the HDR isn't great (uneven darks), but it's 27", 1440P, very smooth 170Hz and very reasonably priced... if you're on a budget, this is definitely a strong contender.

My workstation/gamer: Ryzen9 5900X@5Ghz, AC Freezer2 280mm AIO, ASUS TUF X570PRO, RTX3080Ti FE, 32Gb TridentZ DDR4-3600C14, M.2 1Tb WDSN850, M.2 1Tb WDSN550, 2x 8Tb WD80EFAX, Corsair HX850, LianLi O11 Air Mini + 3x NF-A14's, Gigabyte M27Q (27"/1440P/170Hz), Asus PA248 (24"/1200P/60Hz), Dell WFP2408 (24"/1200P/60Hz), G815 kbd, G502 mouse, Sony WH-H910N, ModMic Wireless.

Here's the RTINGS side-by-side... they look like very comparable screens, I'm sure you'll be happy: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/asus-tuf-vg27aq-vs-gigabyte-m27q/1640/19668?usage=3623&threshold=0.10
