Go to solution Solved by officedemon,

i just called my isp and that is it, i ordered a static ip address, they said they'd send me an email in a few days

i host a Rust and Valheim server out of my home and i just switched isp's
I got a new router and opened my ports (port forwarded) like before in my router
i googled my public ip and it says 208.38.225.50
my router says my external ip is something different then my public ip address

what Address do I tell people to connect to? the googled ip address is not working nor is the external one

I had the same problem with my minecraft server where my public ip is different then what it says on my router. FYI do not put out your public ip. You might be in my situation. Refer to my post here. I would advise you read the whole thing. I do not know all the networking terms but my post explains what this is.

WARNING!! THE THINGS I SAY ARE BASED OFF EXPERIENCE AND MIGHT NOT BE TOTALLY ACCURATE!!

If your router WAN IP is between 100.64.x.x and 100.127.x.x or 10.x.x.x then you're behind CG-NAT and can't port forward.

it looks like i'm under 100.95.x.x

Yup, that's CG-NAT, about the only thing you can do is call your ISP and see if they'll sell you a dedicated public IP address.
