Channel - Affiliation

Go to solution Solved by LogicalDrm,

Linus has talked about the difference couple times. LTT videos are well structured, scripted and usually about procuts which offer something new of different. For example the latest ROG phone not that long ago. Usually that would have been on SC, but it was seen as new and innovative enough, it got full-on LTT video.

Hello everyone,

today I started to watch LTT's newest video about the 2nd gen Google Nest Hub and wanted to know what qualified it to be on the main channel versus for example being on ShortCircuit.

My guess would be that it focuses on the topic more than the product, but I am not sure. Is there maybe a video or post that explains this process?

It's not like any of this bothers me (why would it? Duh), I am simply interested in the bts-stuff going on.

Best regards,

Kamasabi

My guess is because it was a VAG drop which happen on the main channel only.

Short Circuit in my mind has always been more about taking a first look, maybe with a part at the end of the video with some "thoughts after using it" (like with the Loupedeck video on SC for example).

LTT videos are more about talking about the product and its impact on the market and how the user experience is after using it for a little bit of substantial time.

With SC videos I feel like there is more emphasis on sponsored videos too, in terms of "first look"/"unbox" type of videos.

What @tikker says makes sense too, there could be outside  factors influencing them to release a video on one channel over another.

Like a VAG drop, a sponsor's request or their video schedule.

They do have a ShortCircuit set nowadays, plus the presentation method is a bit different on that channel (like interaction with people behind the camera), so I would guess if they ever had to shuffle a video from SC to LTT or vice-versa, they likely have to do that before they shoot the video.

That's just my guess and take on how they separate SC from LTT.
