1440p 165Hz or 240Hz 1080p?

Victorvis

I'm planning to buy a new monitor in the future, but I don't know yet what the best for me is.

I sometimes play competitive games.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

GPU: Nvidia Geforce 2060

What is recommended to me?

I can recommend one monitor I've got my eyes on. The samsung oddysey G7. It is 1440p 240hz and it is a VA curved panel. Apparently the black levels and response times are amazing and it is a great way to future proof yourself. That is if your budget fits in. It is around $600.

PM or DM me if you have any questions about audio.

I would prefer 1080p 240/360 but only because I spend a lot of time in a fast paced game

Now I sidegraded to 1440p144, I think I still prefer my 240hz, but the difference really isn't huge, but it's there

The visual clarity when I play other games is totally worth it though

So I would say it depends on how often you spend your time in what games

Personally I still can't make a decision between 1440p240 (G9) vs 1080p360 for my next purchase

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Why not have best of both worlds with the Oddysey G7? It is probably the most worth it monitor out there for the price.

G7 didnt exist, and my 1080p240 was swapped to 1440p144 in a RMA process
