About an m2 nvme PCI-e 3.0 drive

Sorry to bother people again. I have 2 questions.

 

My motherboard has PCI-e gen 4. The nvme slots are gen 4. Am I ok to run a gen 3 drive in that slot? Will it just run in backwards comparability?

 

Also. I was advised on here last night that my choice of drive was a waste so I down scaled it to a drive I found online. A western digital black 1tb sn750 m.2 pci-e gen 3. I found it on offer atm for £115. It has a 5 year warranty. It reads and writes at over 3gb per second. Is this a good drive for the money?

It will run Gen 3 drives. 

The SN750 is a pretty good drive, 115 for that is an ok deal
