streamlabs obs help

Hi,

Recently I upgraded from a zotac 1060 3 gb to a evga 3070 xc3 ultra and I noticed that when I go to stream on twitch its a constant lag and frame drop. Any suggestions? Drivers have been upgraded and reinstalled already.

System specs:

7700 i7k

gigabyte x270x ultra gaming

corsair 32 gb ram 3200 mhz

Tbh, that was my biggest issue with obs when I used a 2200G with integrated graphics,  adding a 1060 did not help and now with a 3600 and 3070 the same issue persists,  there are clearly drops / lags even when playing games at 60fps that i could easily run at 200fps,  obs doesn't care about overheads and it *will* always take 1-2fps from your game no matter what in my experience.

Note: it worked perfectly fine first time using it, but as soon i set it to "advanced" that stopped and the lagging started... i believe only a complete reinstall might fix it .

Did you reinstall drivers with DDU? And are you using latest driver? If yes, you should try with older or beta drivers.

Not really answering my suggestion. Sometimes using older drivers is better as its well known that drivers themselves can and will cause issues. Also if older drivers don't fix things, the optimization issue might have been fixed on beta driver.

Just saying you have latest drivers CAN be itself the issue you are seeing.

I will see what I can rollback too and see if it solves anything.

nvidia doesn't have beta drivers as far i know?  if they do that certainly would be interesting...

it's weird, i do have strange issues with recording lately, mostly that the videos themselves stutter, it's why I've been trying obs, and really it's weird , it ran perfectly fine for the first time, since then not anymore, resetting settings didn't fix it, DDU, old or new drivers, i even rolled back to an earlier Windows version (which  i know ran fine with exactly the same hardware)

it's almost like the card itself is the  issue but i doubt it.

it's really hard to pinpoint these issues though.

guru3D has a lot of older drivers, from recent  experience i doubt it'll help but worth a try for sure.

or you can just download them from nvidia site apparently (i didn't know)

Not at the moment. But they have had, and can have. Its been  awhile since I've personally had serious drivers issues (during BF3 beta), and then solution was to use Beta drivers.

The link for ALL drivers is right under the main search for drivers on Nvidias page. I'm sure if you go to MajorGeeks or other mirror sites, you can find old beta drivers for funs.

yeah, i remember they used to have them.

And oh, wow... i didn't see the links for older drivers for some reason, i thought they removed them, but you're right, it's right there lol.

ok, for me it's fixed (for now) with newest driver 466.11 and newest afterburner (4.6.4 beta 2)

Both streamlabs OBS and GFE Shadowplay don't lag anymore - although for me it was the recordings that lagged...  not sure if it helps you , but these kind of issues almost always seem indeed driver related.

not that im aware of, i tried to keep it simple, so no advanced settings and nvenc new , and a pretty high bitrate, since i mostly use it for recording and i really  don't like  how it looks with lower bitrates (think  i set it to 30k, but i'd have to  check)
