Hello people, so my LCD on my laptop isnt stock anymore, the stock display is 1920x1080, but some stupid scammer nerds just changed it to 1366x768, its working but ISNT THAT A DOWNGRADE???

Idk since the stock display can just do 60Hz and this display is 75Hz, then the Backlight dies makes the LCD half alive, so rather than getting scammed again i wanna fix it myself, this happens 2 times and the first one is fixed by a technician but sadly i dont have his contact and i didnt see how does he fix my lcd. So this is dumb, i need to fix this!

But i dont know how.

I need a light behind the screen so i can see windows.

I'd first go to whoever repaired your screen the first time and ask why they put in the wrong wone an effectively downgrading your laptop instead of repairing. Then I'd tell them they have to do it again, but this time with the right panel.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

First and foremost tell you system config.

Next, unless you REALLY trust your local technician, why would you take your laptop to be repaired there?

This might be worse. Go to the manufacturer if you really want to save that laptop. Unlike desktop, laptops are harder to work on and you might end up damaging other bits.

And what do you mean by this?

What I understood from this ...

you took your laptop to a service place and they replaced your 1080p panel with a 1366 x 768 panel because that's probably what they had available which had the same connectors as the ones on your panel. Or, maybe your panel still used CFFL instead of led backlight, and the only panel they had with CFFL was 1366x768.

It could be they scammed you, or it could be they actually charged you a much cheaper price or gave you the panel for peanuts, charging you only for handling (time taken to open it up, diagnose issue)

Now, it seems like half of the backlight has issues ... if it's CFFL, then one of the fluorescent tubes could be broken on desoldered (the terminals at end of the light tube could break). If it's led backlight ... then it's a simple case of one or several tiny leds in the strips of leds being dead (open) and therefore the whole strip of leds no longer lights up, OR the circuit on the laptop motherboard boosting the battery voltage to 30-50v needed for the led backlight is half broken (unlikely)

You could open the laptop, take out the lcd panel and CAREFULLY open the panel removing the actual lcd, then all the filters (which must be kept and put back in same order) to reach the led strip.. usually one on top and one on bottom of the panel, and then you have to replace the tiny broken leds or maybe use a diode or wire instead of a led as a temporary fix.

if you're not good with soldering iron, don't do it, it's too tiny and too hard to fix a led strip.  An alternative could be to buy replacement strips for your particular LCD panel.... the lcd panel should have a label on its back with some part number / code / whatever, you can go on ebay or other places and search for led strip compatible with that model number.

Or you could also search for the part number / model of the original lcd panel that was 1080p or compatible panels and buy a whole panel (but it would be expensive, maybe 100$ or so)

I am very sorry but my sister dont want to drive 40 miles away to the service center, so she drove to like a electric mall and just drop my laptop there thats how i got scammed, my laptop warranty is gone so i have to pay more, and i believe i still have the 1920x1080 panel is still on my house storage but i don't know if its still working. This 1366x768 is working is working from 2020 january - 2020 october and then the backpanel dies and its fixed by another techinician and he forgot to plug my laptop camera and THINKS that the GPU is fried and he tried to make me to buy a new motherboard, but thank god i am smart that day, and finnaly the panel dies again today, i cannot find the 1920x1080 panel because my mom likes to put PC parts in random places, so maybe there is another way to fix this panel and make it alive around 4 months before i get a new PC?

Actually i have a broken ankle at january 2020 (the time that the 1920x1080 panel was replaced) but the technician just slammed the lid and.. you know what happened. Then the technician makes a deal with my mom to do a 50 50 so he can buy a new panel, turns out it was a downgrade and realize it 1 months later.

Btw the 1920x1080 panel is from ASUS TUF FX504GD. if the 1920x1080 panel wasnt available, its IMPOSSIBLE that mall has alot of store that sell laptop parts maybe HALF of the store in the whole mall is a laptop parts store. And actually i think that the 1920x1080 panel didnt actually broke. But its too late to realize that.

When did you realize that the panel was not 1080p? It would have been definitely noticeable if the screen was of same size, and if its not that noticeable, why bother? Your hardware might perform better considering the resolution dropped...

Also, what model is your laptop. Remember to mention this first and foremost else both sides will just waste their time on guessing and suggesting solutions.

I have a Lenovo Flex 10 whose backlight went off few years ago. I looked up online for possible causes (I've had a bad experience like you did with local technicians). I found out that a power connector might have gone loose. So I opened up the laptop carefully and found the wires coming off from the panel, and voila that worked!

Just a side story.

Well, again, why would you drop a gaming laptop in  non certified repair shop.. haaa..

Buying a new one will cost around 100 bucks...

Even if you found your old panel, your laptop warranty is already void...

What I can suggest is trying to see if some sort of power connector is loose. Again be careful. Might be your laptop already is missing some screws/has broken tabs (happens a lot when given to un certified nubs)

OR

See if you can arrange an external monitor or just buy a new one. As you said :

Assuming by a new PC you mean a desktop..

I'm out of ideas and would NOT suggest to try repairing the LCD panel on your own.

I didnt drop it on a non certified repair shop, we did have a trusted technician but his store is closed and my sister picks a random store!

She is a moron. She makes all of this happened and she blame it to me and she DOESNT want to drive even 20 miles away for ASUS Service Center! I am very mad and stressed right now that Another 100$ is gone

And you know SHE DOESNT WANT TO DRIVE TO THE SERVICE CENTER FOR THE LAPTOP TO GET FIXED IF I AM 18 I WILL DRIVE TO THE SERVICE CENTER MYSELF

I did realize that when i was changing the refresh rate of this display. The power connector is not loosen, i tried with other panel it worked but the other panel is cracked lol.

There might be three possible causes for your problem.
1.  Faulty Backlight,
2. Failed inverter
or,
3. Damaged cable (display hinge)

first read the manual to dissemble the laptop. Also check the cables connecting the motherboard, LCD and inverter. Jiggle the cables a little bit. Make sure they are properly connected. If the backlight flick during the jiggle then there is some problem in the cable connection.

If the problem is rising gradually then change the backlight.

If this is happening suddenly then it's the faulty inverter. To check the inverter test it's output if its passes power or not. But it's a very complicated process. Leave it for the professionals.
