Motherboard Red Light Need Help

SamAP

I dusted my Motherboard and tested my cpu and gpu temperatures while gaming. The temperatures are fine at around 50 degrees Celcius but there has been a problem occurring frequently. Sometimes during or after a game my pc will either shut down or restart by itself. And when it shuts down or restarts there is a red light at the bottom right of my Motherboard that is on the word "boot." People are saying that its overheating but I dont know what would be overheating, certainly not my gpu or cpu.

There is a good chance that your CPU cooler isn't seated properly and doesn't have the correct amount of pressure. I'd say take it off clean it and repaste it and try reseating it. you also don't actually have to clean and repaste it but it's usually better safe than sorry.

Also this usually indicates that your system isn't communicating with your boot drive or even possibly a BIOS issue.

When you start your PC does the monitor stay blank or does it say something?

It says "Sceptre" when I turn on my pc and it runs fine since the monitor brand is Sceptre. The next time this problem happens I will take your advice and try repasting the CPU cooler.

Well it will say sceptre no matter what, whether your PC posts or not. If the issue happens again pay attention to what or if your monitor says anything past it's own splash scren. If it doesn't say anything then that is more than likely a BIOS issue meaning it's not posting. I would suspect though it will saying there is no boot drive. By the looks from your picture you don't have any sata drives connected so I'm guessing you are only using an NVMe? In which case either the NVMe is somehow actually overheating or it needs to be reseated. Worst case scenario something happened during your OS installation and you may need to reinstall it.

Says "Boot" is fuqd up.
Well that means it cant find windows.
DEL into BIOS and check boot settings.
IN THAT WINDOW (of boot settings)
WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER will show up in the bottom(ish)
Click that and ("Save changes and reboot") when it prompts...
test that.

I found out that my CPU cooler was installed incorrectly so I hope that was the problem, I also re-applied thermal paste. If the problem still occurs I will go into the BIOS.
