From the official page of Aura Sync it claims to require ArmouryCrate? really don't want it tricking itself into installing, even had to disable it's installation via the bios.

This is not exactly correct. What does it matter that Aura Sync standalone will not be receiving updates. If it works, then it works. See below:

As per the title, just did a wipe to get rid of that piece of software thinking iCUE may detect it and let me alter the boards RGB, but sadly nope.

Is their any tricks to let me change the onboard RGB?

PC - NZXT H510 Elite, Ryzen 5600, 16GB DDR3200 2x8GB, EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra, Asus VG278HQ 165hz,

Mac - 1.4ghz i5, 4GB DDR3 1600mhz, Intel HD 5000.  x2

There are no tricks. I agree that the armor crate is crap and I don't use it either. You can use the standalone Aura Sync software. Download link is embedded.

Disabled the onboard RGB, I have RGB on the 3070, and the NZXT fans and the Corsair Ram, all of which has software that is far less cancerous than the Asus stuff.

Basically you can control any rgb light from the motherboard (if the pins are correct).

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

How? I may have missed something in the bios setting I know it shows Stealth and a few other settings but nothing to pick a solid purple colour, so it defaults to baby blue for some reason.

I have the ArmouryCrate installed as well for the RGB of my Asus motherboard, I set the RGB once then just set the software to never start with Windows.

I do agree the software is crap, but as long as it's not running it's not bothering me personally.

If that's not enough you could also try OpenRGB like @Nayr438 mentioned.

This is not exactly correct. What does it matter that Aura Sync standalone will not be receiving updates. If it works, then it works. See below:

I am personally using the standalone version to manage the RGB in my computer and have no issues whatsoever, so I highly recommend checking it out. I tried the Armory Crate, spent 20 min trying to find the settings that I needed and gave up. Either I am too stupid or that damn thing is just too freaking complex and seems to require a degree in rocket science in order to operate properly.

ArmouryCrate works as well as sticky toilet paper.

In a raid atm on ESO, will be checking this standalone version out asap when I'm out.

Got side tracked last night, but it did work! got the motherboard lighting now working perfectly, can also think of using the RGB strip I got with the PC too.
