is it okay to mix "2 G.SKILL 8gb 3200 sticks" with "2 G.SKILL 8GB 3600 sticks"? (2x 3200 in slot 1 and 3) and (2x 3600 in slot 2 and 4)

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

They would work, but would only be able to run at 3200MHz. I would just buy the 3200MHz kit since it's something like $20-30 cheaper IIRC

Hello everyone. Yesterday when I was gaming and streaming I saw that I had lag spikes. When I looked, my ram was almost completely used. So I want to buy extra ram. I have 2x 8gb 3200mhz sticks in my pc and now I wanted to buy 2x 8g 3600 ram sticks, but I don't know if they work together. The "3600" and the "3200" are both G.SKILL TRIDEND Z sticks. Can someone help me? thank you in advance.

As RONOTHAN## said, the RAM will always work at the speed of the slowest.

What I would do:

Buy the 2x8 3600 kit, try to sell your 2x8 3200 to a friend that has super crappy 2666 or so RAM, buy another 2x8 3600 kit to end up at max potential.
