iGPU

I was thinking about building a new PC to combat quarantine depression and stress. But when I fired up Amazon there wasn't any gpus that were at msrp or even in stock. So I thought of getting a high end cpu(10900K?) that has integrated graphics until the gpu shortage ends. Is this even a good idea? If so, what CPUs do you recommend?

No, it's not a good idea. Then there's the issue that Intel's iGPUs are a lot, lot worse than AMD's. Sure, you can just about play Fortnite at 720p on an Intel iGPU, but not much else.

This is an absolutely fantastic idea as long as you keep your expectations reasonable, about what you would be getting from an iGPU. What kinda CPU you get depends totally on your budget tho.

True, but you'll have something to wait out the tide. Better than nothing, and not having a display output. Also, I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending any Intel CPU which is pricier than it's Ryzen counterpart by a good margin, so there you have it.

I mean... 11th gen cpus have better gpus so as a temporary option, would this be a bad idea?

This is fine during the shortage, although I would recommend the 11600K due to the slightly better igpu

maybe for gaming you should get the 11700k it has better integrated graphics can run csgo well at 1080p or 720p maybe

Get something like an 11500 with a good B560 motherboard, that way you'd be saving a lot of money on the mobo and the CPU and you'd still have cash to splurge when GPU prices come down.
