Please help GTX 970

Hello I got a GTX 970 4GB

i have it in a dell XPS with a i7 4790 and 16gb of ddr3 ram. So when I go to install the nvidia game ready drivers. It’ll go through and install and it’ll say complete. But nothing actually happens. And when I go into device manager it gives a error code 43. Any help? Much appreciated

driver troubleshooting can be a real hassle, what I usally do is remove the existing driver for the gpu, and manually install it again.

There isn’t any drivers on it. It’s just using Microsoft basic display driver

That’s what it does. Says it’s complete. But doesn’t do anything.

DDU your system, then try reinstalling your drivers.

 

Also, are you sure you're connecting to the 970 and not the Intel integrated graphics?

It’s a fresh install of windows.

Also, are you sure you're connecting to the 970 and not the Intel integrated graphics?

Yes it’s plugged in via hdmi into the 970 not the built in graphics

Yes I have rebooted it. I just went in the device manager and uninstalled it. Trying to install it again now.

which GTX 970? There are some dodgy ones made with mobile GPUs that got soldered onto a PCIe card instead.

It let me go to 1080p at least in safe mode. The second I go to normal windows it goes to 480p

I had a GTX 1080Ti throw the same errors, it's dead unfortunately.
