Did you enable XMP?,and single channel impacts performance more than frequency (as long as the frequency is not very low)

Yes, In the bios I enable XMP and it becomes unstable directly after boot.

only if looks stable but keeps making errors reading and writing, that slows the game because data needs to be sent more
how did you test that ram module?

I didn't use a particular tester, just found that the computer was practically unusable when I change the clock. Is there a specific testing software I should use?

Probably the limit of the memory controller of the CPU and/or the motherboard, don't worry about it.

I just hopped in a game with task manager open, All 4 cores are pinned to 100% during gameplay. GPU only hits ~60% (Valorant isn't a very GPU-heavy game)

so there is your bottleneck...cpu frequency and number of cores

worse cpus?

Based on some research I did, multiple websites claim that the 2300x should be running much better fps then what i'm getting.

I'm not sure of the exact cpus but they are all 4 core clocked similarly or very close to mine.

From a Google Search, the Ryzen 3 2300x is expected to run memory up to 2933mhz.

There is also the crap quality of the motherboard to take into consideration.

But you can't rule out the memory controller on the CPU,first and second gen Ryzen are notorious for having unstable memory controllers at higher RAM speeds.

The GPU is being bottlenecked, check for bloatware first to make sure if the CPU or the bloatware are causing it.

For CPUs i recommend Prime95,Small FFTs option for 1 hour.

If there is a problem Prime95 will display errors and warnings.

OCCT is just a stress test, not a stability test.

For RAM i recommend Memtest86.

it does use all ram modules and gives errors if something is not working as intended, maybe it's not accurate as other tests but it's very fast and good enough to find what is not working

I changed my clock to 3000 and the computer seems to be running fine, still not much of a difference in gaming.

I am aware of the bottleneck but I know people with very similar CPUs getting better performance.

I ran a 2 minute test on the memory and everything seemed fine, no errors.

2 minutes means nothing,to properly test your RAM run Memtest86 for at least 3 hours.
