I’ve just recently bought a 1080p laptop with the aim of it lasting me 4 or 5 years, and on a laptop 1080p is honestly just great. It means i get longer battery life, and (when I rarely play games) can play them on higher settings. 4K I can recommend more if all you’re doing is editing documents, browsing the web and watching content. 1080p is better suited to gaming, especially with the higher refresh rate.

 

I’ve also been using a 720p laptop for the past few months and it’s 7 years old, so make of that what you will. The screen still looks fine, but keep in mind that 1080p is a much higher resolution than 720, so it will look a hell of a lot better for longer. Sadly all tech eventually gets old, but I can’t imagine 1080p being completely abandoned within the next 5 years. Going from 720p to 1080p you will notice a massive, massive difference.

I didn't buy a laptop for gaming, but I got a 14" ASUS ZenBook with ScreenPad for work. It's only up to light gaming as it's got a mobile i7-1165G7 and a mobile MX450 GPU so I don't recommend you buy it for your use case. I did, however, buy a desktop for gaming last year and bought a 144Hz 1080p monitor for it, and it is honestly perfect. The high refresh rate makes all the difference, and 1080p is extremely clear. It means I can get well over 100FPS in most games with good clarity. 4K would be clearer, but my frame rates would be nowhere near as high.

 

The only gaming laptop I can really recommend is the Zephyrus G14, as I've had it recommended to me before, and have seen many positive reviews of it.

It doesn't really work that way in laptops, you have to look at the total package since you won't be changing any of the other parts to what you want.

It takes way longer than that for a standard as solid as 1080p to be changed. Even 1440p hasn't really caught on yet, and it's been around in gaming for at least a decade.

I've just had a look. Some reviews say it is heavy and unattractive in design, and the fans are loud, but if neither of those things bother you then I'd say go for it. Those are brilliant specs. How does the price compare to your other choices?

Well the price point is great. 1600 euros. However there are no pieces left to buy at any store in my country. Well it is perfect, however i read that the thermals are not good. I was suggested to buy something from the lenovo legion series. So i don't know .

I found msi gp66 very good specs. Rtx 3060 i7 etc. But it is exensive. 1800 euros sale from 2000.
