Yep sorry for some reason it sent twice. Obviously it’s down to you, and you can get 4K and be ok with it, but for gaming it’s not really worth it. For gaming you want a higher refresh rate for higher frame rates and a decent resolution, but not the largest, so the 120Hz 1080p panel is the best for gaming.

I’ve just recently bought a 1080p laptop with the aim of it lasting me 4 or 5 years, and on a laptop 1080p is honestly just great. It means i get longer battery life, and (when I rarely play games) can play them on higher settings. 4K I can recommend more if all you’re doing is editing documents, browsing the web and watching content. 1080p is better suited to gaming, especially with the higher refresh rate.

I’ve also been using a 720p laptop for the past few months and it’s 7 years old, so make of that what you will. The screen still looks fine, but keep in mind that 1080p is a much higher resolution than 720, so it will look a hell of a lot better for longer. Sadly all tech eventually gets old, but I can’t imagine 1080p being completely abandoned within the next 5 years. Going from 720p to 1080p you will notice a massive, massive difference.

Thank you very much. Which 1080p laptop did you buy?? And maybe can you suggest me a good one for gaming( with rtx if possible)

I didn't buy a laptop for gaming, but I got a 14" ASUS ZenBook with ScreenPad for work. It's only up to light gaming as it's got a mobile i7-1165G7 and a mobile MX450 GPU so I don't recommend you buy it for your use case. I did, however, buy a desktop for gaming last year and bought a 144Hz 1080p monitor for it, and it is honestly perfect. The high refresh rate makes all the difference, and 1080p is extremely clear. It means I can get well over 100FPS in most games with good clarity. 4K would be clearer, but my frame rates would be nowhere near as high.

The only gaming laptop I can really recommend is the Zephyrus G14, as I've had it recommended to me before, and have seen many positive reviews of it.

Desktop - i5-9600KF @4.8GHz all core, MSI Z390-A PRO, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz, MSI GTX 1660S OC 6GB, WD Blue 500GB M.2 SSD, Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM HDD

Laptop - ASUS ZenBook 14 with ScreenPad, i7-1165G7, Xe iGPU 96EU, 16GB Octa-Channel 4200MHz, MX450 2GB, 512GB SSD with 32GB Optane

Old Laptop 1 - HP Pavilion 15, A10-9600P, R5 iGPU, 8GB, R8 M445DX, 2TB HDD

Old Laptop 2 - HP Pavilion 15 TouchSmart, i3-3217U, Intel HD 4000, 4GB, 1TB HDD

Thank you very much you cleared some questions. I love g14 but it is too small for me sadly.

No problem, sorry it took me so long to get to the point lol. I can quickly look for alternatives for you if you'd like?

This is one of the most highly rated machines I've seen. Aside from the lower amount of storage, it should suit your needs very nicely

If you had to choose would you go 3060 or 2070?

It doesn't really work that way in laptops, you have to look at the total package since you won't be changing any of the other parts to what you want.

So 1080 and high refresh rate is better than 4k?? But in some years 3 for example won't 1080p be old?? Like how 720p is for us now?

It takes way longer than that for a standard as solid as 1080p to be changed. Even 1440p hasn't really caught on yet, and it's been around in gaming for at least a decade.

Yeah you answered me. So if it was to choose between 1080p 120hz and 4k 60hz you would choose 1080p? But will 1080p satisfy me for 5 years? Because i took a 720p laptop 3 years before and i have to say that i don't like it now. Well of course if it had better specs 720 p at ultra would be fine

I'm not sure how you think we're going to know what's going to satisfy you. That's something only you would know, and I'm pretty sure you can't see into the future.

Thank you. I am afraid in my country this costs 2500 euros.

I believe i found a similar and even better too. Laptop Asus TUF Gaming A15 15.6" (AMD Ryzen 7-5800H/16GB/1TB SSD/NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6GB )FA506QM-HN005T. What do you think?

I've just had a look. Some reviews say it is heavy and unattractive in design, and the fans are loud, but if neither of those things bother you then I'd say go for it. Those are brilliant specs. How does the price compare to your other choices?

Well the price point is great. 1600 euros. However there are no pieces left to buy at any store in my country. Well it is perfect, however i read that the thermals are not good. I was suggested to buy something from the lenovo legion series. So i don't know .
