I’m looking to see what cooler I should get for my i5 11400f I’m planning on buying for my first pc build my budget is 50 us I’m looking at a noctua nh-l9i but idk I want something that will keep it cool but not needing overclock (I don’t think that model can)

What case are you getting?

That Noctua cooler and coolers like it are generally meant for situations where you are restricted in size, where only such a smaller cooler would fit.

If you're getting a 'normal' size case, there is not much reason to go for a low profile cooler, compared to a more typical tower cooler, like the Be Quiet! Pure Rock 2 (assuming it fits in the case of course, there are different size of cases still).

Of course you can also use the stock cooler that comes with the CPU, seperate coolers would be recommend for more quiet operation of the PC.

Well I have everything in a old optiplex 7010 already

There are different sizes of Optiplex 7010 PC's:

Dell Optiplex 9020 USFF PC Intel QuadCore i5 4570s 2.9Ghz 4GB RAM 500GB HDD Win10 in UK

With the "Tower" format, you can probably fit in a larger cooler, while with the smaller variants you probably need to go for such a Noctua cooler or the stock cooler.

Unfortunately DELL doesn't really just publish the max compatibility for these cases.

What one do you recommend in that case ( literally)

I am not sure what would fit in the case max., so I am not sure if something like the Pure Rock 2 would work.

I think that Noctua cooler vs. the Intel stock cooler is going to be a huge difference though.
