Advices for Colorful X570M Mobo (5800x cpu)

Hello,

So I would like to buy this mother board Colorful X570M Gaming Frozen v14 , that I will couple with a Ryzen 7 5800x and an RTX 2070 Super  (in the  Enermax Marbleshell MS30 and 16Gb of RAM (2x8), will change the fan by some ID Cooling ZF-12025 , and probably gonna watecool the CPU with an AIO from the same brand).

Would you advice against it ?
Is there anything from this motherboard that I should be afraid of (apart from the fact it's a mATX) ?

I don't plan to overclock this anytime soon , and I just want a build that work.

I never build a PC before so I'm quite afraid about messing up something, so I hope this mobo is fine , from what I seen it seems fine, but I would like to know if anyone had some issue with it.

It's the only motherboard that is really full on white, so I really want to take it, and no I don't really want to go Intel.

Thanks you

Don't get it if you don't have an older Ryzen CPU.

I did not have an older Ryzen so I had to buy a motherboard with a bios flashback feature.

Also R7 5800x CPUs are a bit hot so a beefier VRM is a good idea.

RIG#1 CPU: AMD, R 7 5800x3D| Motherboard: X570 AORUS Master | RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB DDR4 3200 | GPU: EVGA FTW3 ULTRA  RTX 3090 ti | PSU: EVGA 1000 G+ | Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic | Cooler: EK 360mm AIO | SSD#1: Corsair MP600 1TB | SSD#2: Crucial MX500 2.5" 2TB | Monitor: ASUS ROG Swift PG42UQ

You mean the motherboard don't work with a 5000 series ?
That could explain why the website doesn't mention this series, but that's a bit weird isn't it ?

I do know the 5800x are a bit spicy but I don't know how to see VRM , let alone what a "beefy VRM" would be... I just plan to go AIO to have decent temps

AIOs will tend to worsen VRM temps, since you have very little airflow around the socket.

The VRM looks manageable (4+2 with doubled MOSFETs) but there's probably better available for the price. An excellent comparison is here:

I'd expect this board to land between tiers C and D.

You would need an older Ryzen CPU to boot so you can flash the bios to run the 5000 CPU.

When it comes to heat it is all about motherboard choice.

Here are two videos I watched before buying.

RIG#1 CPU: AMD, R 7 5800x3D| Motherboard: X570 AORUS Master | RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB DDR4 3200 | GPU: EVGA FTW3 ULTRA  RTX 3090 ti | PSU: EVGA 1000 G+ | Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic | Cooler: EK 360mm AIO | SSD#1: Corsair MP600 1TB | SSD#2: Crucial MX500 2.5" 2TB | Monitor: ASUS ROG Swift PG42UQ

Wait so it's better overall to go Air Cooler ?
Or do you mean going Air Cooler is just better for the Motherboard ?

I don't really plan to go into Overclocking or even 4K gaming, probably stick to 1080p for a while (but in Ultra setting and all...) so I don't know if going for a "between C and D" motherboard is really risky or not for a consumer like me

There is no other way ?
Because I just don't have other CPU since it's a fresh build.

And as I just said above this quote, I wanted to go Water Cooling to have a better result (in term of temps) for the CPU since he heats up quite a bit, but if it's worse then I don't know anymore...

I guess in the end the best would be to go for the Asus Prime X570-Pro then, to get the White touch.

I saw there is some B550 but I'm not sure I want to trade that with an X570 since it's a new build that would stay with me for the next 5 year or so.

I have a 360mm AIO on my 5800X and it does run cool. The only reason I did not put a big air cooler like the Noctua nh-d15 is that the cases I use are designed for AIOs so it makes sense to use them.

I don't see a flashback button on the Asus Prime but the TUF Gaming X570-PRO and the Strix X570-E have it.

So you would say an AIO (although it would be a 240mm) is fine then ?
I wanted to take something like that , but somebody told be it's a bit small for the heat output of the 5800x , plus if I go with the original mATX i posted, I would rather go AIO then.

Since there is no Bios Flashback I guess I will either have to find a shop that do it for me or buy a AMD 3000 serie then sell it back...

I personally would not use a 240mm AIO on an 8 core CPU.  I would use one on a 6 core.

Non of my modern CPUs are overclocked but all of my older CPUs are so I keep that in mind when I do a build.

I see

Guess I will have to think about it then.

Have to admit between the jacked price, the heat output of the 5000 series (and new intel) , I just feel like this is the worst time to build a computer...

Thanks for all the anwser then , I will try to sort something out.
Really want something white but that also work, even tho' I'm in 1080p I don't want to experience issue in the near future
