Have you upgraded any of the components in the laptop?

Regardless i recommend against using Windows on that laptop.

Wonder if you can fit a modern laptop ssd inside? It sure will make thing significantly faster. Sorry if I'm wrong, has no knowledge on old laptop.

I usually don't agree with putting an SSD in a super old computer / laptop. The booting may be faster but in the end the laptop will still handle like a piece of dog shite.

I don't know the specs of the laptop, but Chrome is VERY CPU intensive and consume a lot of memory. Great web browser for desktop, but for mobile computer, especially slow ones, its a big no. Try Firefox.

Well, I guess his option is to buy a new budget laptop then, since his objectives are only browsing Chrome and documents.
