I managed to OC my 5600x 4.2GHz all cores at 1.025V , but only ryzen master shows real time core speeds and it does not exceed 3.7GHz in games. Only stress tests make cores 4.2GHz. My problem is i want to make OC with powersaving. My previous CPU was 6700k, i OC'ed it 4.5GHz with 1.28V. It was idling at 1-2GHz. But now my 5600x always shows 4.2GHz. Cpu-z, hwinfo64, aida64 etc. all programs shows 4.2GHz except ryzen master. What am doing wrong ?

If you want it to throttle, take windows off performance mode and try balanced or power savings and it'll throttle to lower power states.

Otherwise the overclock looks fine. The cpu is using very little power in idle states even if it holds the frequency and likely windows is parking cores anyways.

You can try QuickCpu for better control of your performance, clock, and boost scaling as well as control over core parking.

just turn on pbo and use a negative offset, go as low as you want as long as it's stable, zen 3 is super efficient, no need to kill the single core boost for a fix all-core.

i forgot to mention i already set balanced mode, and it has %10 minimum %100 maximum cpu use.

Close Ryzen Master and be sure it doesn't start up with windows.

Then go to AMD's site and install the chipset driver.

This should install Ryzen balanced mode so you can select it.

it did not work, now my cores are 1.25volt and clock speeds varies between 3.7-4.6GHz, it never goes below 3.7GHz still...

If the power plan is missing, look to this thread for the resolution.

i did this, and it only downclock to 3.3GHz now. i want 1-2 GHz idle. still no success

Try Quick Cpu. DL is at the bottom of the page.

Super easy and straight forward.

https://coderbag.com/product/quickcpu

Or some other software / bios setting is preventing low Pstates.

In bios be sure C-states are enabled.

OR alternatively, try @xg32 's suggestion in the post above.

It's the ONLY third party application that lets you control core parking.

Also will clear memory cache and free up a couple GB as well.

I have it installed even on my benchmarking operating systems as well as my Daily drivers. Or I wouldn't recommend it.

i could not set quickcpu, 1 more fail again...i already tried xg32's solution. it did not work

In QuickCpu, set to power savings and just to the right, click the "Set as Active" button in blue just to the right of the drop down. You do not have to hit apply.

At the bottom, slide all the sliders to the left 0%, then hit apply. Let me know if that does anything.

also %0 not affected 3.3GHz tho

OK you got it.

Next step = determine where the issue is.

Bios setting or Windows/program setting/s

So go to bios and set all defaults. Your Cpu should throttle to it's lowest power state when idle (under 2% cpu usage)

If it does, then you know there's a setting in bios that needs attention. Which one, not sure at this time.

If it does not throttle, then either the system hasn't reached full idle OR there is a program issue preventing lower power states.

bios is already default right now. and quickscheme is idleing 3.3GHz

you should focus on the actual power draw instead of voltage and clock speed. If it idles at 3.7ghz and 1.4v while drawing less than 10w then it's fine.

it boosts up to 3.3-->4.5 with quickscheme, it is stuck at 1.7GHz with powersaving. (Cinebench r20)

Well something in windows or maybe some program that starts with windows is causing this?

I don't know. I'm at a loss r/n lol.
