Easily the RTX 3080, but you can also resort for the 3070 or even the 2080 and still outperform the vega 64

The obvious answer is the RTX 2080, the VEGA64 GPU was more to compete against its contemporary, which is, the GTX 1080.

2080 is far superior. Vega 64 was a 1080 competitor.

Not exactly true, while the GTX 1080 is less power hungry, it USED to perform better in vast majority of games against the RX VEGA64 initially. With improved drivers (aka AMD Finewine tech), the VEGA64 has moved ahead in performance and is neck-and-neck with the GTX 1080 in performance, basically they trade wins. I'm not being prejudiced as I happen to have both, a VEGA64 Red Devil and a Leadtek GTX 1080.
