Have you ever heard about graphene? Maybe yes, but still do you know that if graphene is used for making computer chips, then our pc would perform 10x better and faster. Instead of getting 10fps in low settings in cyberpunk; you would get 100+fps on high settings even if you have a low spec pc. Graphene is really hard to make though. Companies did not official announce if they will use graphene for these chips but we may get news in future if they manufacture these :)

ahhhh, what?? Sources? Anything beyond your typed out words to back up your claims?

Lol, what propaganda have you fallen for?

there is a 0% chance of what you're saying will happen just by switching to graphene. Graphene allows us to do more than what we can with silicon, but the same architecture using Silicon vs Graphene would in no way give the kind of benefits you've been told.

I'm guessing they read this article or something similar
https://futurism.com/graphene-computers-work-1000-times-faster-use-far-less-power
It is the next logical step after silicon, but that doesn't mean a low end chip would play cyberpunk at 100 fps, that's not how it works practically or economically.

Insanity is not the absence of sanity, but the willingness to ignore it for a purpose. Chaos is the result of this choice. I relish in both.

Well, Uh, Nyes? Kinda? IIrc the practical implications of graphene chips could be quite vast, but at a lower-level I beileve you might be missing some important points. I might suggest doing a little more research on the topic?
Being more specific,  I'd recommend making  sure you know what's going on in the traditional silicon industry right now, how these chips actually work (Adding graphene to a chip won't inherently make it perform 10x better), as well as the implications and the logistics of creating cost-effective, economical, and sustainable graphene electronics, and where that area of development is at right now.

They probably just don't know a ton about the subject and they've just read a little about the potential benefits of graphene electronics, and are intrigued. Nothing wrong with that, they just need to do a little more research, and make sure they know everything that's going on and the implications of that. No comment on your wording.

They didn't really make a claim,  sounds more like speculation.

Not much to back up here.

Realistically, I think ARM or RISC5 graphene chips will be made and used in the enterprise market well before us consumers get our hands on the tech.

Ya, maybe,  but the way things usually go,  at this point it'd probably not be too far off for general customers... someone needs to buy the scraps too, you know?

Can't you make graphene with scotch tape and a pencil?

IMO if graphene was a better/more viable option than silica, there would already be significant R&D into it. And, who knows, maybe that could be Intel's thing to try and get back into the game, but I doubt it. I don't really know much about graphene vs. silica.

"As I, a humble internet browser who frequents the forum of the well known internet tech YouTuber 'Linus Tech Tips', named after host Linus Sebastian, have trouble understanding the intent of the authors' post, I find solace in the fact, that I am indeed not alone in my confusion. While I stumble through the comments above, I am reminded of a quote which helps me to cut through ambiguous and unnecessary verbiage. The simple eloquence of the phrase often uttered on internet forums leaves any reading it in no doubt as to the true intent of the wording. I believe that I, and indeed all of us can take a lesson from the message left by it:"

You can, but not at an industrial level.

There is a shit ton of R&D going into large scale production at a viable cost. Graphene has a lot of uses if we only could make it at reasonable quantities.

EDIT:// uses outside semiconductors are strong and light composits, materials with good heat conducting properties, power electronics etc.

Was both fascinated and concerned by the developing applications in 2011.  Graphene?  No.  What they mean to say is Carbon Nano Tubes.

(I wanted to be a doctor, but I had to stop because reasons).

Tutoring for Orgo, I was big fan of Prof Martyn Poliakoff at the time:

Yes, I share it with friends, and bought this at MSRP.  I was a listmaster for several days in NY.
