Altering my current system and using an SSD as a cache drive

NJM1112

Ok so for starters I have a kingston hyperX 3K 128GB as my main OS drive and a laptop 500GB drive for storage (salvaged to save $$$). And my mobo/cpu is the 990FX-ud3, FX6350. OS is win8pro

Once the summers rolls around I will have the cash to do this.

I have so many applications and programs I keep on my ssd it's full 80% of the time. My solution? Buy a 256GB 840evo and transfer all the stuff over there. Sounds nice huh? But what can I do with that extra ssd?

I'm also getting into photography and pictures are taking up alot of space I plan on getting a raid 1 array with 2 drives (havn't decided capacity yet)

How can I make the 128GB ssd into a cache drive for the raid 1 array. Is it possible and how would I go about doing it?

I have enough sata connectors.

It should be possible, but having an ssd for cache will just destroy the drive

Not any faster than what I'm doing to it now.

and I'm willing to make that sacrifice :P

How is a RAID 1 going to save space issues?

Also you could use space restriction as a reason not to motor drive shots, think of your HDD as a roll of film :P gotta make each shot count

current drive = issue.

What ever i get will fix it.

I plan on getting a raid1 array to fix it and have some redundancy
