Help please.

I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to computers and so, I turned to the one place where I knew I could get help. I have a Dell Studio 1737 with 17 inch display. It just stopped working and I have to wipe the hard drive. How realistic of a concept is installing the Steam OS? If that is not a realistic option, would I be able to use the shell of the laptop and update it with better parts. If so, how big of a problem would the monitor be, can it be updated.

for you, no not realistic as its still in very early stages with lots of issues you need know how to fix, also its extremely limited to linux games and hardware last i heard anything from it

You wouldn't profit in any other ways than in gaming and increased E-Penis size

 

I don't think you'll be able to upgrade any bits of the laptop (except for possibly the harddrive) 

 

Do you have a windows 7 (or 8) install disc? 

Do you still want to keep the laptop?
