Is 61c hot for a8 6600k?

Go to solution Solved by bellabichon,

Under load? 61C is a perfectly safe temp.

i overclocked my a8 6600k from 3.9 to 4.3ghz with stock voltage and it goes upto 60-61c is it hot or is it still safe? its max temp is 74c so its safe right? but wont it damage the cpu?

edit: i tried prime95 for 1 hour it says hardware failure so i added a bit to the voltage

Since the T max is 74°C (as you already stated) you are good. However keeping your CPU cooler or as cool as possible can increase its overall performance and especially its lifespan so maybe take a look at some better cooling options.

Have you stress tested it? (Prime95, Maybe cinnebench). What cooler do you have? That seems to be a healthy temp.

Stock volts? Good to go.. 60 is nothing.. 80 is ok. 90 is getting a bit warm, 100 is too hot, and 105 or so it will probably shut down on you 👍
