Why Can I Download Halo Infinite?

Summary

 I saw last week that pre-order for Halo Infinite was available and was showing this to my brother during lunch today when I discovered the pre-order button had been replaced with a download button. I haven't heard any news about this but I seems odd that you can download a game that is supposed to be launching in 7 months. 

 

I took a video of me beginning the download from my Xbox app. It's too big to attach directly so I uploaded it through YouTube. 

 

I apologize if this in in the wrong thread. I wasn't sure where the best place to post it would be. I don't know if this would be classified as a rumor or something else.

You probably can download it ahead of time and then it unlocks at a later date. Since it is still 7 months out they are probably doing beta tests with invite codes

I'm not sure. It appears to only be available on console right now and I don't know of a way to access console files from any other device.
