I use MX-4, but once that runs out, I have a tube of Silver 5 that I'll use.

I also have a tube of Thermaltake generic paste that I put on anything that I don't care about.

MX-4 is good, last a long time, also available in large tubes.

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut is the best performing paste but only by a bit.

A lot of people also like NT-H1 from noctua.

Best liquid metal is Conductonaut, but I assume you're only looking for pastes.

I've used a healthy amount of MX-4 and now NT-H1, and I've honestly been let down with my NT-H1 and will be returning to MX-4's cool embrace when this tube is done. My MX-4 separated after a few years but it still performed almost as well as when it was new, yet this NT-H1 is probably a year and a half old and is hemorrhaging cooling capability on bare die applications, even though it looks fine.

Spoiler

To elaborate on the hemorrhaging bit, my Falcon Xbox 360 and OG Xbox both have applications from when the tube was brand new and are holding up flawlessly.

My PS4 has an application from about October and it's turning into a proper vacuum now, even though it's not close to being dusty enough to be a problem.

And my 1050Ti which had an application from December now needs to be repasted about once a month if I want to keep it under 80C, with each repaste bringing it down to the low-mid 70s before returning to the high 70s/low 80s in about 3 to 4 weeks.

I just use this stuff. It's not expensive, and it actually works very well. I've got some of the Series 7 and Series 9.

I used Thermalright TF8 for a couple of years until I ran out. Then I tried Thermalright TFX.. awesome stuff.. but I ran out.. small tube eh.. now I am back to AS5 😄

It works good. I did use it for a decade before the other pastes.. its really not that bad at all.

I'm a nano diamond user. Antec Formula-7 is my favorite. Right now, I'm using IC diamond cause I got a grip for dirt cheap . like 15-20 tubes worth lol. It's ok, I'll use it. Works well. The only unfortunate draw back with diamond pastes is that it takes the etching off the plate when you wipe it clean. I care less about that myself, I remove most IHS plates any ways. I haven't used AS5 in probably close to 15 years now.

I just updated my Mobo and CPU to a 10700K and a Z490.
I used Corsair TM30 since the oem thermal paste on my Corsair H115 seemed to work great.

Temp both at idle and under load seem to be about the same (~30C / ~55C) (Game boost enabled), and from what I read the 10700K is a hotter CPU than the 6700K.

EDIT: I double checked the numbers today, Idle = 24C, under load is still ~55C

I've never tried it, mainly because up until a couple of years ago I bought my paste from my local brick and mortar out of convenience. I only started buying things online in 2015 or so. Now I have access to whatever I want 😄 But I ran out so I am back to AS5. Now.. when I say its not bad.. I am not quite saying its good either.. its ok.. but hopefully I have it wiped away before summer comes.

Back in the day I got in on the ICD7 trials, I was kind of choked because it took off a good chunk of identifiers. But it worked great down in my cold dungeon. What a shitstorm that was lol.

I really want to get more TFX but its expensive, and very thick. It might work well for you, shouldn't crack. I might just pull the trigger on a 12g tube of TF8.. its better than AS5 lol.

There's a lot of pastes better than AS5. And most of them don't require a 200 hour burn in time either.....

I'm good on paste. Won't need anything for a few years at least. Haven't had any cracking with the AntecF7 or IC diamond. So far so good!

Lol I know.. I might try some of that MX stuff people keep talking about, but has a lower rating then AS5 so bah. After I submit reply I will buy some TF8. Its only running cool because its a 65w CPU lol.. that shows 120w usage at load.. 😛

MX4 is super popular. I haven't heard anything bad about it, worth a shot I think.

I prefer to check the w/mk. The higher the better. Thats all anyone really needs to know imo.

That's why I like TFX and TF8.

That and I am a massive Thermalright fanboy 🤮
