So I already knew there were issues with this site. But has anyone else had the experience of the site just outright changing their comments?

I posted a comment essentially calling out Userbenchmark out on putting out false reviews that run counter to every other reputable review site.

I come back an hour later and my commend on the site was changed to this:

Quote

"Userbenchmark should sue AMD for defamation.—Mar '21"

If the site is just fragrantly changing user comments and reviews like that has this not been noted previously?

What did your comment say originally?

EDIT:
I think they may have - there's one that says "Terrible" but also says "amazing performance! can't wait!"
I posted one and screenshotted it.

Wonder if they'll change it.

PLEASE STOP [Killing] ME I WILL GIVE Y OU ANOTHER DEAL.

it seems likely that you accidentally typed this comment out of order, you meant to say AMD should sue userbenchmark but mistakenly said userbenchmark should sue AMD

I wouldn't assume they're actively moderating content in this way, especially because this particular comment doesn't make any sense (why would userbenchmark sue AMD, and who did they defame?)

also It's a pretty unproductive thing to do, just call out userbenchmark on their own site. I think there are better uses for your time.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

I don't have the exact text anymore since they replaced it.

But it was essentially what I previously mentioned.

I noticed their reviews were completely inconsistent with every other reputable site in the industry and the fact there was something seriously wrong with what they were doing was very transparent. It was maybe a single small paragraph long.

I sort of doubt that, plus if you go down the comments with terrible ratings, in the text itself all appears to be negative towards AMD and positive towards Intel despite the user clearly giving a 1 star review.

make multiple accounts, write some pro AMD comments, take some screenshots, and get some proof that the comments are edited. this would make a pretty big new story if it were true, you can send screenshots to HWUnboxed or another publication and they can break the story.

You can change random reviews, they are a failure of a site. Seriously, right now I have the option to edit over 3000 comments I never made but it lets me edit.

I had no idea, some easy trolling to be had here.

So no major organized controversy, just the same old bottom of the barrel quality we're used to with UB

Not a bad idea. Just used another machine to post a separate comment/review. See what happens after the site reviews it.

If you have proof, you can go for their advertisers (eg. Google) and say the site is posting fake/false information. Falsifying comments is that. Otherwise, there's really nothing to be done. You posting on their site subjects you under their moderation and rules. Only if they would use your words to attack someone/something, you could sue them.
