Audio for headphones suddenly only in one ear. Not as simple a solution as I thought.

So I came back to my computer after running out and plugged in my headphones to the audio jack found in my speakers. Suddenly though I only had audio in one ear. I figured my headphones where dead since I have had the same pair for 7ish years. after bringing the new pair home and plugging them in the same thing happens. I plugged both headphones directly into the audio jack in the back of my pc and it does the same thing. Now when i plug in the headphones the audio is super quiet. Im not sure what is happening.

Try a different audio jack, and see if the same thing happens.

Could be a faulty / failing audio jack on the computer end.

Does your computer have a front audio jack?

You checked the volume mixer to make sure one channel isn't turned down or faded all the way to one side?
