10700k vs 5600x

I will be getting a 3060ti when possible, I mainly game and stream only a little bit. So for gaming which cpu would be better?

Don't worry about mobo price

10700k is $20 cheaper thsn 5600x at microcenter near me

Can't really go wrong with either of them,

Gaming performance is roughly about the same with each being better in some games than the other, just depends on if core count matters to you

10700k 8c/16t

5600x 6c/12t

probably make more sense to just get which ever one is in stock first

A 10700k offers more cores but if you want to overclock you're going to be paying more for the motherboard, and you'll need a separate cooler. The 5600x would offer better gaming performance and It'd come with a stock cooler. I might actually recommend a 10400f and a 3070/3070 depending on your applications.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

If you're buying now, you can use the 10700k while you wait and just run off the iGPU, you can't do that with the 5600x.

My 5600X will be here tomorrow.. I bought my system during the Black Friday sales.. but couldn't get the CPU I wanted, so I settled with my XT lol.. its really not bad. It spools up to 4625 on 3 cores and 4475 on the other 3 on its own, and it was the same price as a 3600 lol. This thing rips. I am still on the fence on whether I keep it for a build for my son, or if I should flip it while I can get my money back. I came from Intel and could have built a nice one since everything was on sale. I'm pretty glad I gave AMD another shot. What impressed me the most, what made me build on AM4 was the fact that AMD was actually stronger with 5xxx series CPU's. Wow. I came from a highly clocked Intel. Personally I couldn't justify more than 6 cores because I don't need them other then to stretch my epeen to the max, which is always nice of course. I'll do that with my next CPU. I would have bought the 5800X but I bought an extra set of ram, a second M.2.. eh.. 6 is good for now.. I still need a GPU 😄
