pci e lanes and folding

ok i have a problem i am getting two gtx 465 and am going to start folding with them but the motherboard i am installing them in is a socket 775 asus p5n-e sli its a pci express x16 1.0 motherboard but if you populate both the pci e slots it drops to 8x speed  my question is will there be a noticeable drop in ppd with the limited speed.

Well my knowledge might be a bit dated (so take what I say with some salt until someone else can confirm themselves) but PCI-e bandwidth "shouldn't" affect F@H performance last i checked.

So even running if your running x1 speed, you should be fine.

Warmon is correct - the lane bandwidth does not matter - have have cards hooked up to x1 slots via x1 to x16 expanders and they fold fine. You won't have any issues...
