Will i7 7700k handle 30 series

We'll have to see how the 3060 performs as and when reviews are published, but I'd estimate it might come in around the ball park of a 1080 or 1080Ti for games not using RTX/DLSS. So that would put it comparable to the top end GPU when the 7700k was still current, and still a good upgrade from a 1060. Titles supporting DLSS could be easier to run. CPU should still be fine for older and/or less demanding games, although at some point you might consider upgrading that.
Does the display have G-sync (or similar VRR)? Unless you're playing games where insane fps rules, it'll still be a great experience not hitting the monitor maximum and you can balance games image quality vs framerate.
