Is it just me or are Nvidia HX mining cards a joke?

Ok, so Nvidia supposedly made a new line of mining cards to try and get more RTX to gamers, however the specifications they posted are a joke? It seems all HX cards are worse than any RTX 30 series or am I missing something? It really doesn't seem to solve the problem except maybe really low price...

I guess at least the 3060 may be less interesting for miners then. Also curious as to what the "professional mining outlets" are.

Yeah they are pretty bad. With a 3060ti/3070 you can get 60 MH/s with around 120W. I think the only decent one might be the 90HX, but we have to see how much it costs and how much power it draws (3080/3090 reach 100/120 MH/s, but the power draw is very high).

I wonder if nvidia will upgrade the memory junction cooling, since with 30' cards reach 100/105 °C unless you manually change the thermal pads

yeah i really don't know what they're trying to do here cuz even my 5700xt can reach 52mh/s without significant tweaks while only consuming 100w

They are a PR stunt to make it look like Nvidia cares. Nothing more.

Price offset would have to be amazing to make that worth it in any regard. The hole point to a gc is it pays itself off and can still be sold for profit. Selling mining cards only happens when the media blows bitcoin out of proportion and random people start buying hardware to "get rich quick".
Much rather buy a pallet of 3060ti's.
