Hi. I wanna upgrade my pc and i'm curious because my motherboard doesn't have M.2 slot on it. I know that i can buy an adapter for it and plug it in, but i wanna use it as boot drive (Windows 10 and couple games) but idk if i will plug everything BIOS (AWARD) will pick it up with no problem. I don't wanna spend money for something that will not work.
Thx for help and sorry for my poor english it's not my 1st language spoken.

What are the specs of the rest of your system?

CPU: AMD FX-8300 3,30Ghz

RAM: GeIL 8GB 1600MHz CL11

GPU: GeForce 1050Ti 4GB

MOTHERBOARD :Gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3 6.0

POWER SUPPLY: Chieftec iArena Series 600W 80 Plus

and two magnetic hard drives 1st 1tb 2nd 500gb i forget the brands

Id just get a sata ssd then. That system is too old to support nvme boot, so a nvme drive in a pcie slot will work, but won't be bootable.

I would just go with a sata ssd as the speed difference is hardly noticeable between a sata ssd and a nvme drive. You would be spending alot of money just to get nvme running on an old system that wouldn't really benefit all that much from it over just getting a sata ssd and calling it good.
