Does bm800 really need phantom power?

so im considering getting the bm800 mic but when i look at reviews some say that it needs a phantom power and some say it doesn't so i wanted to see if someone can help me with this matter. Im going to use it on a desktop because most people said that laptops won't give the mic enough power, thanks in advance.

All condenser mics require phantom in order to work correctly, the 800 on the other hand is actually a poorly designed electret mic so white it technically functions without phantom it still certainly benefits from it.

I strongly suggest you get an audio interface also because it needs a preamp too.

Aside from that I really suggest you don't purchase a BM800 because they are extremely poorly designed, take a look at the link in my signature, I run through what mics are good and which ones you shouldn't touch.
