So I upgraded to 34 ultrawide 3440x1440. My evga 1080 cs is a great card but struggles on that resolution.

Thought on the replacement (new or second hand) to get closer to 144fps?

just hang on unless you dont mind paying triple what its worth. Not even kidding. RTX cards are going for $1000+ it's completely and entirely stupid to buy one right now.

problem is i only have bequiet pp10 (500), perhaps is enough?! (r3600)? Although outervision says I should be golden with 3070 - 462 recommended:

500w may work but would be pretty tight.  I'm running an EVGA 3070 FTW3 and will see power draw upwards of 280w on the board draw in GPU-Z.  Granted this specific card has a higher power ceiling than most.

I'm also using a 3440x1440 144hz ultrawide and in that regard it's not a bad matchup.  Some titles will be in the 60 - 80fps range if you're turning up the eye candy but in general it's fine.  Gsync/Freesync also makes the lower frame rates feel much reasonable if you have the option of turning that on.  My bigger worry is how the 8GB VRAM will age long term.  It's ok for most current titles but there are some that really do want more even now.  I went in to it knowing I may have to turn some things down in the future, but something to keep in mind.

I’d get the best card you can afford. Anything new is better than a 1080. Especially if playing 1440, not a good res for such a card and high FPS.
