Hi! I want to build myself a new pc. I have narrowed the CPUs to the following:

Ryzen 5 5600x

Ryzen 7 5800x

Ryzen 7 3700x

I mainly game but I also like to have a video aside, sometimes I even keep 2 games running at the same time, so I need a balance between performance and multi-tasking. This is one of the reasons I chose AMD, because I saw that their CPUs had lower usage in games, at the cost of a few fps.

I need to know not only which performs better, but I would also like to know the MSRP of the ryzen 7 5800x, so that I know it fits my budget.

Any info on any of these is much appreciated, thank you!

Ryzen 5 5600x msrp $300

Ryzen 5 5800x msrp $449

Ryzen 7 3700x msrp $330

5800x is the best out of that bunch

5900x (unlisted) is best value

If you need to build today, I've seen 3700X's around. 8 cores gives you headroom for video and running two games at the same time.

Thanks for the reply! I don`t plan to build it until summer at least, because I want to put an RTX 3070 in it and honestly, here where I live, first hand, like not buying from second hand scalpers, it`s like 1300 for the aorus master that I want to get. It`s disgusting

Thanks for the reply! I like best the 5800x, the 5900x would probably be overkill and it`s also way over my budget, but thanks for the msrp, I really appreciate this:)

10700f is $229, better deal than the 3700x and games better.

Also, Z490 with advertised PCIE4 capability will also support new 11th gen intel.

if just gaming then the 5600x, if you want something else then as said above.

5000 ryzen having a better single core speeeeed

I plan on waiting on this also, maybe intel would come out on top after they release their new gen, but I still prefer AMD

The 5800x is somewhat pushing my budget, I`ll also consider the intel, but with the new gen around the corner, buying right now doesn`t seem like the best option.

Maybe not, but $230 for an 8/16 chip is quite good. If you're considering the 3700x, it costs $100 more, is slightly slower at gaming, and that not much better at anything else.

I`ll make a build with the 10400f also, thanks for the suggestion

Wait for rocket lake, is around the corner. If I remember 11700k is faster than 5800x and rumour about is cheaper at the price tag of 350 dollars. If this is real than amd is in a real trouble.

Don't buy the i9 11900k is a stupid cpu to buy because is same as the 11700k with 8 cores 16 threads.

Get a 11400f is faster maybe at a same price as a 10400f

This is the biggest problem. WAITING.

You have to balance the point of waiting for the next best thing and when you want/need to build.

Granted LOW (and I mean LOW [at least in the USA]) stock has everyone basically waiting right now.

I just hope this changes by summer 2022, when I have to build my daughter's college computer. (SFF for graphic arts/light gaming).

My 2020 Upgrade: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600; MB: MSI X570 Tomohawk WiFi; Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB 3600 MHz; Case: Lian Li Lancool II Mesh Performance; PSU: Corsair RM550X 80+ Gold; Storage: WD Blue 500GB SSD; Seagate 4TB Compute HDD; Monitor: GIGABYTE G34WQC 34" 144Hz Curved Gaming Monitor, 3440 x 1440 VA 1500R Display

Previous Components Still Using: GPU: MSI GTX 1070 (bought Used); Storage: WD 3TB Green HDD,WD 1TB Black HDD, SanDisk SSD PLUS 240GB

Previous Monitor I want to VESA mount: LG 29UB55-B 29" Ultrawide 1080p 60Hz IPS

Don`t like the f, no integrated graphics, and I need the HDMI port on the mobo. I`ll wait for rocketlake tho, hope the usage in games is lower than with AMD

Such a pain in the ass if you ask me. So much good stuff has been released recently like the RTX 3000 series or the 5000 series CPUs from AMD. Basically everyone and their mom is planning on upgrading right now. The stock wouldn`t have been such of a problem if it wasn`t for scalpers. Sure, you would still have to wait, but they made it like 10x worse.
