2nd question should I buy a M.2 drive with lower storage but with a built in Cashe or should I go higher capacity but with no Cashe

What dirves are you looking at. there is a lot more to a drive than if it has cache.

60$ is all I'm willing to spend and I would like to go 500Gb but would be fine with less

There is but is it currently useful stuff for a given use case?   I suspect it is stuff that WILL BECOME useful or even required for just about everything, but I’m not sure drives available now will even meet those requirements when the time comes.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

are you talking about the dram cache?

Part of it is there are dramless drives that are faster than some drives than dram. Thats why I say look at more than cache, or any single spec on a drive, as it can vary a lot between drives.

ALso not having dram won't limit you from using some future programs, as the os doesn't know or care about the cache on the drive. Low performance drives might be a issue, but there is much more to performance than the cache used.
