Well if you want to upgrade you would really have to get a new motherboard as well. I think you should just save a bit more money, and then buy a Ryzen 5 3600 or even a Ryzen 5 2600 and a B450 motherboard. Both have 6 cores 12 threads and are pretty good CPUs for budget streaming.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

A 2600 is quite expensive, and so is the 3600. Neither is worth it on their own, not mentioning their budget is below the price of either- without considering ram or the motherboard.

The fastest CPU that mobo will support is a Core i7-7700K (https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GA-Z170XP-SLI-rev-10/support#support-cpu)

But the performance boost may not be worth the cost, given that old CPUs are for some reason going for more money than new ones.

I realize you are overseas, but the cheapest one on eBay from a reliable source is 250$, and that'll buy you a lot of other options, like the Ryzen series...

If you can sell your current CPU and MOBO for around $100 then buying a 1600AF with a B450 board is a viable option

geometry is hard
b550 > x570

I got a 2600 for £110 during the first lockdown. A B450 board is around £65-70, so £175 for both. Say we add 15% on top of that for whatever reasons, that would still be £200 ish. Convert to Euros, that's about €225. He could sell his current CPU and motherboard for at least that €75 extra cost.

He can reuse the RAM, granted it's quite slow but OP just wants a CPU upgrade for now.

I got it for £113 brand new on Amazon. It's probably not going to be as cheap as it was, hence why I added 15% on top of what I paid.

2400 is pretty slow for today's standard, but it'll get the job done just fine

You also need to quote them so they'll see the reply

CPUs, aside from an OC gone wrong, or a power spike, are hard to kill...why do you think it's on the way out?

im not too sure it is just struggling harder and harder every week and i havent made any changes and there is no malware or other software running in the background. but in all honesty if i can sell it as used and reduce the price quite a bit maybe someone with less intense usage wont have any problems

Save up a bit more, get a new motherboard and get a ryzen 5. Its much better for streaming than intel, also make sure your using the nvec encoder

yeah man already on it getting both the 2600 and the b450 but not sure if the difference between the 450 mobos are worth the 20 euro difference. i use nvec but its literally just the cpu killing everything at once hahaha. Thank you 😄
