Building My First Ever PC

DezerDedoid

Guys I just need some help with some of my initial ideas, I am not buying everything as of now due to stock related issues and just the prices of the graphics cards are on steroids right now. Please dont make fun of me for not knowing what I am doing, I am learning everything from scratch about PCs. So right now what I want is a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with a GTX 3080, I want my pc to last me at least 4 years that's why I am going for the 3080, but the thing is I have a total budget of £1200, I need £300 for my 240Hz monitor (I want to be quite competitive). So this brings my budget down to £900 for everthing else that I need to start playing games this includes the operating system. So that will probably take my budget down to £800. I dont even know if this is possible to be honest. If not can someone maybe give me a better option. I don't mind sacrificing 1440p for more performance I would rather have crisp gameplay at 150-200FPS on Warzone. And Thanks to anyone who contributes.

I will make you a parts list... for $900 it will be difficult to get to where you want to be.I would go with a 144hz monitor 1440p and a 3060ti+some cheaper ryzen processor. I will edit in a parts list in a few min. I will make sure to have the prices in the parts lists the ones that are stock assuming you are building this in 3-6mo

If you are spending $200 - 300 on a monitor then there is no way you can get a 5600x or a 3080. If you are spending 300 on a monitor then you can get a 10400f with a 3060, but if you really want a 5600x and a 3080 you would need a budget of 1500 minimum

Is this including the monitor then 1500 and the operating system, or just 1500 in the PC

If you dont pay scalper prices then you could fit a 5600x and a 3080 for 1500, although tbh the lowest you can get a 3080 for now is around 900.

Is the 3060Ti good, I have no idea really, still new to all this, but I am trying to learn. I want a pc that will last me at least 4 years of gaming new games, if the 3060 Ti can run warzone at 150FPS I am fine with that then...

I am not planning on buying the PC now it's more towards August, by then hopefully the GTX 3080 will lower its price back down ti £700?-750. Other than that I dont see a problem with this build...I just dont know if I can afford that...

Oh, well then ask in August. Market is currently very bad and it will be way different in August so I would not even bother with bulding rn. Also its the RTX 3080, not the GTX 3080 😄

Yeah, the 5600x and 3080 is a good combo but im not sure if there will even be stock in august. Also if you stick with your 1200 budget there i still no way your going to build with a 3080 or 5600x.

To break it down -
Monitor - 300
RTX 3080 (if in stock) 700 -
Ryzen 5 5600x - 300

Even without having a case, psu, mobo, ram, and cooler you still cant afford a 3080 at that budget. A 3060ti may fit tho

Unfortunately fitting a 5600x+3080 in with a monitor isn't going to happen even with normal prices. If your buying in August prices for all these products could change massively, I would suggest coming back in August and asking the same question then. I put in good parts which are all (apart from the 3070) at a fine price right now. You can use this as a rough base for what you need to get later on in the year, as I said though I would come back when you actually want to buy to get new up to date prices (also there are new cards rumoured-eg. a 3080ti and 3070 super, which should come between the 3070 and 3080 prices right now).

Edit: I put in a 1080p 144hz as going up to around 1440p with that refresh rate is going to cost you around an extra £200.

I heard that the 3080 is twice as better than the 3070 is this true ? and because you have said that the 3080 is basically ruled out from my budget what would be the next best option keeping in mind I want to play games competetively...I know this is a lot to ask with the budget I have but I might be able to push my budget up to 1.4k, I gotta ask my parents to chip in the rest or just ask for it as my birthday gift. So with a total of 1.4k budget could I do it?

No. Unless you dropped the monitor and managed to find it at msrp at some point. As i said the 3070 will be fine for you.
